Winter/Spring
REGISTER TODAY FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAMS!
Our Winter/Spring season is the busiest for MRC. We run our competitive season for athletes in grades 8-12 along with our non-competitive Middle School Program (MSP) for those in grades 6-8. Those in 8th grade can choose between the competitive team or the MSP.
Competitive Team: This program starts in early December and runs through mid-May. Attendance at practice is mandatory - rowing with MRC's Competiive Team is a six-day-a-week commitment. This is where our motto of Love, Trust, Hard Work really shines!
Options for registering for our Competitive Team:
- Full Program (Winter/Spring): The vast majority of our athletes register for this program. This properly prepares them for the race season in the spring.
- Spring Only: This is for select athletes who are involved in a winter sport already and may not have the time to come to our winter training practices. We encourage these athletes to come to as many practices as possible during the winter to "check-in" with the coaches. Your athlete MUST be approved by the Program Director to take this route; it is only for special circumstances. You must contact Marisa Cohen & Cait Leggett at mrc.coopercommodores@gmail.com to discuss this possibility.
Middle School Programs: For those new to the sport or who want to learn more about rowing, we offer recreational programs during the winter and spring months, focusing on the basics of rowing and refining technique including proper erg use, cross-training, and water time in the spring - plus a fun introduction to MRC's culture! These programs are open for students in grades 6-8. New to this winter is a Winter Conditioning Program in January - get a jump on the New Year!
