'26/'27 WINTER/SPRING COMPETITIVE TEAM 

1) CJRC's Winter/Spring season is considered one season. The winter period is required of all athletes in order to train and race in the spring. With the exception of approved situations (i.e. Novices, and athletes involved in another high-intensity Winter sport), Varsity athletes are expected not to be involved in other extracurricular activities that directly interfere with their commitment to CJRC, including but not limited to employment, clubs, or other sport teams. 

2) PRACTICE TIMES & LOCATIONS: Winter training is anticipated to begin Monday 11/30/26, and will be held at our indoor training facility at Moorestown Mall. We will return to the Boathouse for on-water practice sometime in March 2027 (Spring season), and the location schedule will then be adjusted as needed. 

Practice times are anticipated to be staggered, and within these time ranges:

• Monday-Friday: 5:00-7:30pm (sessions within this time range)
• Sunday: 8:00-10:30am

 

INDOOR PRACTICE FACILITY: Moorestown Mall @ 400 W. Route 38 in Moorestown

ON-WATER PRACTICE FACILITY (Spring only): Camden County Boathouse @ 7050 North Park Drive in Pennsauken

INDOOR COMPETITIONS & REGATTAS: Schedule TBA. In the past CJRC has competed in the Haddon Hammer, Steve Neczypor Regatta, St. Andrew's Regatta, Lenape Sprints, Mercer Lake Sprints, and our own COOPER CUP. CJRC's Spring racing season typically begins at the end of March and continues through mid-May, with select athletes competing in the USRowing Youth National Championships in June. 

3) ATTENDANCE: Expected 6/days a week. Please review the CJRC Code of Conduct for an explanation of excused/unexcused absences: CLICK HERE

4) TRYOUTS: There will be 2-week tryout period at the beginning of the Winter season for Novice athletes new to CJRC as well as Varsity athletes transferring from a different competitive team, and new to CJRC. Seniors new to CJRC for the Winter/Spring season are only eligible for the Developmental Team, not the Competitive Team. If your Varsity athlete new to CJRC for the Winter/Spring season has been on 2+ other competitive rowing teams, please contact mrc.coopercommodores@gmail.com for a discussion with the Program Director before completing registration. Novice/Varsity athletes who were invited to join the Competitive Team for Fall '26 will not have to try out again.

5) WINTER/SPRING COMPETITIVE TEAM FEE: TBD (Previous Winter/Spring fee $2,500)

• Fees above are inclusive of facility/equipment use & maintenance, insurance, coaching, training, and regatta fees. Does not include costs for travel, or mandatory standard or travel uniform kits.
• No proration (except for approved Spring-only athletes) or future credits; when necessary, partial refund considerations at discretion of the Board.

PAYMENT: You can choose to pay in full, or in installments. A $150 discount is applied automatically at checkout if you choose to pay in full.

DEVELOPMENTAL TEAM: WINTER CONDITIONING PROGRAM

CJRC's Developmental Team, our non-competitive training program, is open to middle and high school students in the tri-state region. We are looking for athletes who are ready to learn, have a positive attitude, and are excited about the sport! Our program is especially great for those athletes who will also join the DevTeam Spring program. If your athlete is new to crew and interested in getting a jumpstart on their rowing career, or if they are looking for the opportunity to hone their erging skills and focus on fine-tuning their technique, this is the program for you.

3) COST: $350 to be paid in full at time of registration. No refunds, proration, or future credits. Financial aid not available for DevTeam.
